If you’re looking for a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas with the family in Kuala Lumpur, I think you’ll love St. Regis KL.
When it comes to the holidays and timeless traditions, they’ve perfected the art down to a tee. Going with a “Letters to Santa” theme this year, this playful idea is carried through all their family-friendly festive activities.
I attended the Christmas Afternoon Tea recently and thought it was beautifully crafted, from the fresh presentation to the imaginative mix of flavors. I especially loved the interactive mini-course where you can write an edible letter (more on this later!).
I’ll walk you through the full menu of St. Regis KL’s Christmas Afternoon Tea, and we’ll also take a look at all the festive staycation packages and activities available this holiday season.
Ready? Let’s get into it!

St. Regis Kuala Lumpur Christmas Afternoon Tea Review
St. Regis Kuala Lumpur’s afternoon tea is known to be a refined affair, but their Christmas edition takes it up a notch.
True to their “Letters to Santa” theme, the overall presentation was fun and imaginative!
Once we’d picked our tea (I highly recommend their house blend), a mailbox arrived at our table carrying our first course, a light and refreshing salmon and Granny Smith apple mille-feuille, topped with dollops of coriander. It’s truly divine!
Then came the second course, which felt like a gourmet holiday feast in canapés form.
My favorites were the foie gras terrine with Valrhona chocolate (a surprisingly delightful pairing!) and the duck rillettes tartlet – the sweet fig marmalade perfectly complemented the savory duck.
The truffle egg mayo sandwich was lush and creamy, while the mushroom croquette with truffle aioli had a satisfying crunch.
I love the interactive mini-course that came after: You’re given a sablé cookie topped with an edible envelope, and a food-grade pen to write your holiday wishes with. Once you’re done, go ahead and bite into every bit of it!
It may look too cute to eat, but once I had some of the rich and decadent chocolate frame, I happily polished it all off. >.<
For the third course, the sweet treats were also almost too beautiful to eat (almost).
The standout for me was the white chocolate sleigh, which housed a creamy milk chocolate mousse and a tangy banana passionfruit jelly.
The matcha Christmas tree choux, the caramel milk chocolate bon bons, and the Santa macaron with blackberry gel were also exquisite.
Finally, the experience wrapped up with warm, buttery scones served with clotted cream and strawberry-lemon jam. They’re quite possibly the best scones I’ve ever had!
Kids’ Christmas Afternoon Tea
There’s also a kids’ version of the afternoon tea that’s perfect if you’re planning to visit with your little ones!
While the standard version is served by course, the Kids’ Christmas Afternoon Tea is a smaller set served in a pretty luggage-box (an ode to the travel-loving founder of St. Regis, John Jacob Astor IV).
