Aquaria KLCC Reviews: Local Mama’s Honest Opinion (2024)

From the Author: As a lifelong KL-based mama, I made it my business (despite nobody asking) to know which touristy spots to skip and which ones are actual gems worth checking out.

Looking for honest Aquaria KLCC reviews to see if it’s worth taking your kids here?

Here’s mine: To my surprise, I love Aquaria!

I can’t help but be a little wary of tourist attractions but hey, I’ll try anything once!

I took my daughter here one afternoon and we had a wonderful time watching the pretty displays, bobbing along the iconic tunnel, and getting to know plenty of under-the-sea creatures.

If we’re comparing kids’ attractions in KL, Aquaria KLCC tickets are one of the priciest. I’ll share with you my full experience throughout all the Aquaria sections and you can decide if it’s worth the admission fee.

Sounds good? Let’s dive right in! (couldn’t resist, sorry).

My Honest Aquaria KLCC Review

Mama’s Rating: 4/5

As I said, I’m always a little hesitant to like super-touristy places but I’m genuinely surprised by how fun Aquaria KLCC is!

5 Things I Enjoyed About Aquaria KLCC

1. The calming vibe (as long as you avoid the huge crowds on weekends and holidays).

2. The beautiful exhibits! I especially love the tall cylindrical aquarium in the Deep Forest section.

3. It’s a decent size. We spent around 2 hours here slowly enjoying the exhibits, and the Asian in me hopes that makes the tickets worth it lol.

4. It’s accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. The exhibits are along sloped walkways, and there’s an elevator to get down to the lower level.

5. The convenient location. It’s connected to the Suria KLCC mall via a covered tunnel.

What I Didn’t Enjoy About Aquaria KLCC

  • I know a touch pool is a common feature at aquariums but I’m disturbed by how scared the animals seem each time a hand grabs at them.
  • The family-friendly facilities are surprisingly lacking. There’s a baby changing room but no nursing room.
  • There weren’t any seating areas along the exhibits. I don’t use my stroller often and had to carry my tired daughter halfway through.
  • The ticket is a little pricey. I booked through Klook to get slightly discounted rates

A note on the pricing: To be fair, Aquaria’s admission is not too far off from the entrance fee to most indoor playgrounds in KL and Selangor, so it’s still pretty reasonable.

Go Through The Living Ocean Tunnel

Hop aboard the travelator and catch sharks, stingrays, turtles, and more swimming around in the tunnel above! It’s such a soothing experience.

PS. There’s a smaller, freshwater fish version at the National Science Center Malaysia (minus the travelator).

Snap A Photo At The Tall Fish Tank

There’s a mesmerizing cylindrical fish tank in the Deep Forest section. It’s an awesome spot for photos!
