Zany London theme aside, The Parenthood playgrounds offer plenty of good fun for little ones! They’re hugeeee!

There are plenty of sections to explore – the multi-level climbers are fitted with all kinds of fun obstacles and slides. There’s a fun interactive playscreen section too.

One of the reasons I personally love The Parenthood: it’s one of the cheapest indoor playgrounds in KL! Play rates start from RM19 (about USD4).

What I Like:

  • Incredibly spacious play areas with extensive multi-level climbers.
  • There’s a quieter area for babies and toddlers with lower slides and soft climbers.
  • Admission fee is one of the cheapest around and includes 1 accompanying adult!
  • There’s an attached cafeteria (although food options are limited).

3. Kiztopia

This super popular Singaporean playground brand opened its first branch in Malaysia in 2024, and it’s fast becoming a beloved toddler play spot in the city!

The fact that it’s located within Toys “R” Us earns the playground extra fun points – nobody’s happier than a kid in a toy store and now we get to play in one too? Woohoo!

I notice a lot of indoor playgrounds in KL these days try to incorporate diverse activities, and I think Kiztopia does this really well.

There’s the classic soft play area with an (interactive!) ball pit and slides, and it’s wonderfully complemented with a costume dress-up section, a sensory sandbox, and a grocery store, cafe, clinic, and farm for pretend play.

What I like:

  • Spacious and well-organized playground with really fun and diverse play areas!
  • Admission fee includes 1 accompanying adult.

Things to consider:

  • Currently, there’s only 1 location in KL.
  • You can choose between a 2-hour or unlimited day pass but the price difference really isn’t all that much.

Kiztopia location: Level 2, Toys “R” Us, Mid Valley Megamall (Mid Valley City)

Open to: Babies to 12-year-olds

Pricing: Admission starts from RM42 (USD9.50) for 2-hour weekday entry (includes 1 accompanying adult).

Entrance to Kids Nation, an indoor playground in Mont Kiara.

4. Kids Nation

I love all the thought that has gone into this playful space!

We went to the one in Mont Kiara and the best feature of this kids’ indoor playground is the towering floor-to-ceiling children’s library that greets you right at the door! I like that the library gives little ones some downtime in between hopping and climbing around the play area.

The playground itself is well-designed! I love all the natural light shining through so you don’t get a lot of scary dark corners as you would at some indoor playgrounds.

What I like (based on the Mont Kiara branch I visited):

  • Beautifully-designed play space with lots of natural light and clever use of different types of materials.
  • That library!
  • Nappy changing room and kid-friendly washrooms provided.
  • There’s an attached cafeteria for snacks and drinks.

Things to consider:

  • It’s one of the priciest playgrounds in KL.

Kids Nation locations:

  • Sunway 163 Mall (Mont Kiara)
  • The Campus Ampang (KL)
  • Main Place Mall (USJ 21)

5. Little Pirates Playland

This indoor playground in Bukit Jalil is HUGE and has a fun pirate-y theme!

The space is fitted with all kinds of playful structures from a ship-shaped playground to a foam mountain little ones can climb to a super fun ball pit.

And that doesn’t even cover half of the stuff kids can play with here!

There’s a section with the cutest kids’ gym equipment, another with lit-up slides, a sea-themed swing, and a whole lot more!

It gets REALLY crowded on weekends though. Go on weekdays if you can.

What I like:

  • It’s spacious (16,000 sq ft to be exact!) and offers more than 20 play areas to choose from.
  • There’s a quieter area for babies and toddlers with lower slides and soft climbers.

Things to consider:

  • Currently, there’s only 1 location in KL.

Indoor playground Kuala Lumpur Kidzoona's toddler play sections.

6. Kidzoona

I randomly came across this indoor playground while on an errand in NU Empire Subang, and I’m so impressed with it that it’s become one of my go-to spots!

It’s a Japanese-based playground that promotes life skills through play. They have the cutest pretend stalls! Kids can run their own sushi bar, burger stall, and flower shop.

They even have a whole section of Magnatiles and similar open-ended toys!

The AEON Mall Shah Alam branch has the best ball pit with swings and a flying fox – and even has a parents’ section with work desks, plug points, and free Wi-Fi!

What I like:

  • It’s one of the cheapest indoor playgrounds around! This applies to standard Kidzoonas, but even the premium Kidzoonas aren’t too expensive.
  • The pretend food stalls are too cute and so much fun!
  • Some branches are work-friendly for parents! 😀

Things to consider:

Entrance to Starship Galactica, an indoor playground in One Utama.

7. Starship Galactica

This space-themed indoor playground is located in one of the biggest malls in the world, which tells you a lot about finding anything and everything you need here! 😉

This indoor playground in Selangor has a similar soft-play setup to Jungle Gym and The Parenthood where there are multi-level padded climbers, ball pits, and slides.

I appreciate that the staff goes around the play areas to help parents keep an eye on their kids.

What I like:

  • Incredibly spacious play areas with extensive multi-level climbers.
  • There’s an attached cafeteria for snacks and drinks.

Things to consider:

  • Currently, there’s only 1 location in PJ.
  • It’s pretty pricey for a 3-hour entry.

The indoor play areas have a cute magical kingdom theme. There’s a toddler area for 18-month-olds to 3-year-olds with padded climbers and slides, rockers, and a small ball pit.

The bigger play area for kids aged 4 and up has big slides, tunnels, and a really cute mountain climbing area!

They host fun seasonal events too where kids can come dressed up to the theme.

10. Baby Shark Adventure Ville

If that all-too-annoying familiar tune of “Baby shark doo doo doo doo doo doo” makes your kids’ day, you HAVE to bring them to this Baby Shark-themed indoor playground.

It’s such a cool thing for kids to see all the popular Pinkfong characters featured on the climbers, sliders, and ball pits at this novelty play gym in Malaysia.

What I like about this place is that re-entry is allowed, so you can always go out for a meal or a nappy change, and come back in for more play time!

Indoor playground Kuala Lumpur Petrosains soft play area for toddlers

11. Petrosains

This science-themed indoor playground in KLCC helps kids understand the world a little better through playful exhibits.

Older kids will understand the concepts better but I see younger toddlers having the time of their lives here too. There are all kinds of buttons and levers for them to play with, and it’s pretty fun to see how their actions lead to certain reactions.

Younger ones will also love the soft play area with giant blocks and tiny slides.

In the AI section, kids can ask pre-set questions to the robot and wait for his cheeky answers.

Petrosains location: Suria KLCC

Open to: All ages

🐠 If you’re planning to visit Petrosains, consider spending some time at Aquaria KLCC too. The calming underwater tunnel is my fave thing here!

✈️ Planning a trip to KL with kids? Don’t forget your travel medical insurance!

If you’re flying into Malaysia, here’s this mama’s #1 tip: get your trip covered!

With toddlers especially, you never know when you’ll need to visit a clinic (hello sudden fevers and scraped knees), and it gives major peace of mind knowing you’re insured.

I like SafetyWing – it’s affordable, easy to set up online (even mid-trip!), and includes free coverage for kids (1 child per adult policyholder).

12. SuperPark Malaysia

SuperPark is an all-in-one indoor park that’s a lot of fun for the whole family, offering all kind of activities for different ages!

Best Kid-Friendly Cafes With Indoor Playgrounds

I love how easy it is to find cafes with indoor play areas in KL! They’re great for mom dates or getting some work done while the kids are happily occupied.

These are my favorite spots:

@mamasguidetomalaysia @Ngam Ngam Neighbourhood serves fast food with a wholesome twist, and I’m into it! We went to the one in @Tropicana Gardens Mall and I love the minimalist play area. My daughter and I had a wonderful time cackling away, making full use of the adult-friendly slide 😆 What I Like: ✅ Decent protein-rich menu options! I love that they offer ala carte options so you can build your own platters with things you do eat and avoid food waste. ✅ Work-friendly for parents, with plug points and good visibility of the play area. ✅ Ngam Ngam outlets are all in malls, which is convenient if you need to pick up groceries or do some shopping. Things To Consider: ✨ There’s a RM20 minimum spend per adult and RM10 per child. ✨ The playground varies from outlet to another. The Lalaport location’s playground is pretty extensive! 📍Outlets: – Lalaport BBCC – Tropicana Gardens Mall – Nu Sentral (in Decathlon) – IOI City Mall Putrajaya (this location doesn’t have a playground though) Need more kid-friendly cafe ideas? There are a few locations to choose from, and they all have a minimalist yet extra-fun play area. What I especially appreciate is the abundance of plug points and seating areas, and how you get a good view of the entire play area from your seat!

I love the protein-rich menu too. You can go for their sets or make up your own meal with flexible à la carte options.

Indoor playground Kuala Lumpur at The Red Beanbag near IKEA Damansara.

17. The Red Beanbag

The Red Beanbag is the perfect spot for mamas to wind down with some good coffee while the little ones enjoy themselves in the awesome play space.

I love play areas that are properly curated, and the one here is absolutely well done. There are Pikler-style climbers, an adorable treehouse, a whole row of books, and plenty of open-ended toys.

For extra convenience, there’s a family room for nappy changes and nursing. Diapers are provided 🙂

I especially appreciate that the kids’ menu is properly thought about. You know how some places just put ‘nuggets and fries’ in the kid’s section and call it a day? Not here. They have a wonderful fruit salad and a selection of mains.

There’s also an option to have boiled eggs on the side to add some protein to the carb-heavy dishes.

Best Kid-Friendly Cinemas With Indoor Playgrounds

It boggles my mind to think that going to the cinema is one of the best toddler activities in KL these days. What used to be a sensory nightmare has now been given an awesome kid-friendly update.

In these kiddy halls, the lights are brighter, the movie volume is lowered, and kids are encouraged to run around and play.

19. Play Halls, GSC Cinemas

I feel like GSC sets the gold standard for what a kid-friendly cinema should be. Their play areas are huge. Depending on the locations, they’ll have things like ball pits, multi-level climbers, and a reading section.

I love that they keep neurodivergent kids in mind with sensory-friendly screenings. The nursery provided also doubles as a break room for overstimulated kiddies who could use some quiet time.

20. Junior Halls, TGV Cinemas

We watched The Little Mermaid here for my daughter’s first trip to the cinema and she had a blast!

There’s a huge play area before going into the cinema. There are Barbies, Hot Wheels, Mega Bloks, and more to play with.

We chose a comfy twin seater where we can snuggle and sing Part of Your World together. There’s a small playground in the hall itself for when kids get bored of sitting down.

Indoor Playground Kuala Lumpur: One Last tip!

Okay, so those are some of the best kids’ indoor playground Kuala Lumpur has to offer!

Make sure to bring socks for yourself and your kids, as most play areas require them. Otherwise, you’ll have to buy them at the playground.
