Um, is Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam THE best indoor playground in KL? Cuz I’m really starting to think that it is!
For one thing, it’s one of the rare play spots that provide proper workstations for parents (complete with plug points and free Wi-Fi!).
The playground itself promotes play-based learning and there’s a diverse range of activities for kids to enjoy!
⭐ Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam Highlights ⭐
- Ball pit with swings, a giant inflatable slide, and a flying fox.
- Pretend play area: kids can run an ice cream stall, coffee shop, sushi bar, and more!
- Open-ended play area with Magnatiles, Squigz, and more.
- Soft play area with magnetic building blocks.
- Daily activities: arts and crafts, games, and more.
The entrance fee is way cheaper too compared to other popular indoor playgrounds like Jungle Gym and The Parenthood.
I do have one tinyyy gripe about the location but I’ll go into that later.

Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam: My Honest Review
Mama’s Rating: 4.9/5
I LOVE a good play area with so much thought that goes into it, and that’s what I see at Kidzoona.
The Japanese-based playground encourages learning through different types of play. Kids here are given plenty of opportunities to climb, slide, jump, swing, build, read, sell, buy, cook, and all kinds of other fun stuff!
The play area is not as big as more popular indoor playgrounds like Jungle Gym, but it’s also cheaper. Plus, they don’t charge any admission fees for 1 accompanying parent.
I see they make it a point to be inclusive for all families too, as they clearly specify an OKU category in their admission fees (and no, there are no differences in admission rates). For context, disabled and neurodivergent children are generally referred to as OKU in Malaysia.
6 Things I Like About Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam
1. The diverse play areas. They cater to a wide range of ages. I can see how babies, toddlers, and primary school kids would have so much fun with all they have to offer here.
2. The inclusivity. Having a niece and a nephew who are neurodivergent, it’s a huge deal to me that they’re welcome to play here. We noticed 2 kids on the spectrum having a wonderful time.
3. The kind and attentive staff. The ladies on duty were warm and kind to the kids, and were wonderful at engaging the little ones during the activity sessions.
4. The play areas are regularly tidied. I love this so much because I get so overstimulated with mess sometimes. It’s so calming to see the staff periodically cleaning up when kids are done with certain stations.
5. There’s a dedicated section for parents to relax and work. The workstations have all you need – Wi-Fi and plug points. There are massage chairs if you need a little TLC.
6. It’s one of the cheapest indoor playgrounds. Weekday entry costs RM20 (USD$5) per child.
What I Don’t Really Like About Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam
- I don’t have any issues with the playground itself BUT it is a little inaccessible to get to using public transport. There are no LRT or MRT stations near AEON Mall Shah Alam.
Best Things To Do At Kidzoona AEON Mall Shah Alam
Run A Food Stall
There’s a burger shop, cake shop, coffee shop, ice cream shop, sushi bar, and takoyaki stall. Each stall even comes with custom aprons for kids to put on. They’re too cute, I think I squealed a little!
I love seeing all the kids making new friends and taking turns being the customers and shop owners. There’s even a cash register for them to practice their numbers and money skills.
This is the sushi shop where kids can assemble their own sushi with a whole range of ingredients. Just look at all the details!
The ice cream stall was my daughter’s favorite. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the ice cream scoop actually worked!
There’s a cute little supermarket too with plenty of ingredients for them to shop for.
Play In The Coolest Ball Pit Ever!
How cool is it to have swings in the ball pit? The flying fox section is a hit too. My daughter and her newfound friends were giggling away sliding down the zipline.
There’s also a giant inflatable that kids can climb up and slide down.
Build All Kinds Of Cool Stuff
The open-ended play section is LEGIT!
I was already impressed with them having a Magnatiles station, and then I saw all the other stations they had with all kinds of building blocks and Squigz suction toys.
Play With Old-Fashioned Doll Houses & Train Sets
There’s something so soul-soothing about wooden doll houses and train sets (hello inner child, is that you?).
We spent a good amount of time just chugging the little train along its tracks and imagining all kinds of silly scenarios in the multi-story doll house.
Build Giant (Soft) Structures
This place introduced me to the wonders of Jolly Heap!
They’re these nifty little magnetic soft blocks and they’re great fun for babies, toddlers, and older kids (and adults, judging by how much fun I had making my own soft-block sofa).
Chill Out In The Baby Section
There’s a small, quieter corner away from the hectic ball pit area meant for babies.
Little ones can enjoy a little regulating break or play with soft number blocks and baby toys in this section.
Join In The Daily Activities
Kidzoona hosts different types of kids’ activities in the afternoon and evening. We went during the month of Eid and participated in a crafting activity that teaches number-matching using ketupat, a local Eid delicacy.
They display their daily activity schedule at the ticketing counter so you can plan your timing.
Family Facilities
There’s a parents’ section in the quieter corner of the Kidzoona play area. If you’re a WFH mama like me, you can use the work desks here and still watch over your kids as the area overlooks the play areas. There are also massage chairs provided. How thoughtful!
The Kidzoona playground is just a few steps away from these family facilities in AEON Mall Shah Alam:
- Baby changing room & nursing room
- Toilets
- Surau (prayer room)
Kidzoona is also located right next door to the kids’ section of the AEON department store, so it’s pretty convenient if you need to drop by and pick up baby supplies, clothing, toys, and more.
