Fun X World USJ Review: Hidden Indoor Playground In Subang!

If you’re looking for an indoor playground in Subang Jaya where both kids and adults can have an awesome time, make a trip to Fun X World in Summit USJ stat!

This adult-friendly playground is designed for you to dive right into the fun alongside the little ones, whether it’s rollerblading, hopping into bumper cars, or sliding down the giant playground.

And you know what I really love? All that space!

You probably won’t be able to tell from the unassuming entrance but Fun X World is HUGE! Each play section has plenty of breathing space, and as an easily overstimulated mum, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate an indoor playground that doesn’t feel overcrowded.

Here are all the fun stuff you can try at Fun X World:

  • Fun forest-themed indoor playground
  • Rollerblading rink
  • Bumper cars
  • Arcade games

Here’s a quick look at the Fun X World ticket prices:

  • Kids (above 80cm): RM40 (weekdays) | RM65 (weekends)
  • Adults: RM20 (weekdays) | RM20 (weekends)

The admission includes certain credit amounts to access the different play areas – I’ll explain more about this in today’s review.

As you might expect, there are pros and cons to consider about playing here. I do have some thoughts on the on-site cafe. The location in Summit USJ may or may not be a good thing too.

So are Fun X World tickets worth it? Let’s get on with the full review!

We were invited to play our hearts out at Fun X World by the warm and friendly team recently (thank youuuu guys!).

I’ve said it earlier and I’ll say it again: I was NOT prepared for how big the interior actually is!

We beeped our wristbands, stepped through the entrance, and we were met with a sprawling play park with a magical kingdom theme, matched with thematic decor and mood lighting.

The two-level space has a rollerblading rink, arcade, bumper cars, and cafe on the main floor, and an entire upper level dedicated to a full playground.

To me, Fun X World made a great first impression. I felt like a kid, eager to explore every nook and cranny with my little one. You can tell a lot of thought went into making this place exciting yet manageable for both kids and parents.

What Attractions Do They Have At Fun X World?

1. Rollerblades & Scooters

This is so random but I actually had a midlife crisis felt like going rollerskating a few weeks back and it felt almost serendipitous to get an invite from Fun X World and they happened to have a space for rollerblading!

I strapped on my blades, and after a humbling reminder that I’m no longer the sprightly 12-year-old (when did gravity get so scary?! 🥵), I actually had a wonderful time skating around!

The thing is, I was expecting a standard rink where you just skate around in circles. Not here – they made a full route with playful little things to discover as you’re skating along! I like the little hidden cave area.

To give you an idea of just how big the space is, it’ll take you between 2 to 3 minutes to complete the full path (assuming you’re an adult with basic rollerblading skills).

As an alternative to rollerblades, there are also scooters for kids and adults that you can use to cruise along the path here.

2. Bumper Cars

I like that they chose the most fun carnival attraction to add to their activities list! Hop in one of the shiny cars and have fun bumping away 😀

Kids who are 100cm can drive their own bumper cars. Otherwise, they can hop into the passenger seat and serve as honorary co-driver as mum or dad navigate.

This was my daughter’s first time in a bumper car and it was hilarious watching her cackle and have the time of her life as we bounced and bumped around! 😀

3. Arcade Games

There’s a good mix of arcade games, and I like that they include a lot of movement-based ones that are loads of fun for little kids!

There was a pogo stick game that had us cracking up while we hopped around the virtual race route, and there was one where you have to make your way through a wonky suspension bridge.

Although they don’t have most of the arcade classics I grew up loving like Daytona and Tekken, I did enjoy the Mr Pac-Man pinball machine and old-school Space Invaders game.

4. Forest-Themed Playground

Take the escalator up to the upper level and you’ll find that the whole area serves as Fun X World’s indoor playground.

There’s a huge slide near the playground entrance (you’ll see mums and dads happily giggling and sliding away here with their kiddies), a super-long ball pit, a multi-level treehouse (with more adult-sized slides), a vertical maze, and a trail ride.

What I found quite interesting is that there are plenty of hidden routes and areas that encourage them to explore. It ties in really well with the enchanted forest vibe here.

Fun X World Summit USJ: Family-Friendly Amenities

Fun X World doesn’t allow re-entries, and they fully welcome families to spend a full day here. You can literally enter at 10 a.m. when they open and leave at 9.50 p.m. if you really wanted to.

With this in mind, this indoor playground is equipped with convenient facilities for families:

Baby Changing Areas

There are nappy-changing stations provided on each level:

  • Main level: Near the bumper car entrance
  • Upper level: Near the main slide area

The changing stations are clean and come with a sink.

The attached washrooms are clean and comfortable too.

Lockers

There are lockers provided on each level:

  • Main level: In the rollerblading area
  • Upper level: At the playground entrance

The lockers are available for free. Just ask for a key from the counter staff.

Surau

There’s a Muslim prayer room provided on the main level, steps away from the washroom.

Do note that there’s no wudhu area in the surau itself – you’ll need to use the washroom.

Cafe

There’s an on-site cafe serving fast food and snacks.

The menu is pretty limited, mostly made up of nuggets and meatballs with a side of fries. The cafe team mentioned that they serve nasi lemak and pasta dishes on weekends.

Fun X World Summit USJ: Pros and Cons

What I Like:

  • All that breathing space: I’m genuinely impressed by the size of this playground. I’m sure as parents you’ll know how overstimulating and overcrowded indoor playgrounds can sometimes be, so having all that room makes the whole experience so much more enjoyable.
  • Magical atmosphere: I love how the magical kingdom/enchanted forest theme is carried throughout all sections. It’s especially fun how they create plenty of hidden nooks and secret passages for little ones to explore.
  • It’s really clean! All play sections are pretty much spotless! I noticed a cleaning team going around keeping everything clean and neat as we were playing. This applies to the washrooms and surau too.
  • Good variety of attractions: The combination of a rollerblading rink, bumper cars, arcade games, and an indoor playground is pretty unique!
  • Adult-friendly play areas: I’m a big believer in the wonders of play for kids AND adults, so it’s really nice to see that the activities here are suitable for grown-ups too!
  • Quiet mall: Now, I know Summit USJ isn’t the sexiest mall there is BUT one thing about a less-popular mall is that there are no crowds and parking is super easy to find!

Things To Consider:

  • Compulsory stroller parking: Strollers are not allowed to be brought into the play areas – it’s part of the park’s measures to ensure good traffic flow and sufficient, comfortable space for all families. It’s best to use a versatile baby carrier if you’re visiting with younger kids.
  • Limited meal options: The cafe’s menu is pretty basic – it would be great to see more wholesome options instead of fast food like nuggets and fries.
  • Lack of rollerblading safety features: The rollerblade section doesn’t provide safety equipment like a helmet and knee pads, so please bring your own if you have them. I would have really liked to see handrails in the area too.
  • You don’t get to win any prizes at the arcade: I think it kinda zaps the fun out of the arcade games a little that you won’t get to win any prizes.
  • Limited stores and recognizable restaurants in Summit: If you love a mall with plenty of shopping options and crowd-favorite restaurants, you’ll find Summit lacking. There isn’t even a coffee chain here.
  • Traffic: USJ 1 area is known for terrible traffic. Avoid peak traffic hours in the morning and evening, if you can.

Mama’s Tips For A Fun Day At Fun X World

Planning your trip

  • Go on a weekday if possible. There are fewer people, making it even more comfortable for everyone 🙂
  • Have a proper satiating meal before entering the park. You can then head to the on-site cafe if you need snacks in between playing.
  • Use a baby carrier if you’re planning to visit with younger kids. Stroller parking is provided at the park entrance.
  • Bring a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads for rollerblading, if you have them.
  • Wear long socks to keep your legs covered in the rented rollerblades.
  • Bring a nursing cover. There’s no nursing room but there are plenty of seating areas where you can nurse comfortably.

Fun X World USJ: Final Thoughts

I love a good playful spot (especially one that’s adult-friendly) and our family had the best time at Fun X World!

I’m genuinely impressed with the spacious play areas and the unique mix of attractions available here. As an adult, the rollerblading section is my favorite. I felt 12 again skating along the route, giggling away with my daughter on her scooter. It was a cute memory. 🙂

If you prefer a more relaxed indoor playground that doesn’t feel too stimulating, I think you’ll really like Fun X World.
